Canadian $100 Gold Coin

Home >> World Gold Coins >> Canadian Gold Coins

Canadian $100 Gold Coin was first issued in 1976 to commemorate the Montreal 1976 Olympics. The coin was struck in both proof and brilliant uncirculated finishes and it was in fact first and last time for the $100 gold coin to be minted in brilliant uncirculated finish; all following issues were only proofs.

The weight and gold composition of Canadian $100 gold coin varied through the years but not greatly. There was one issue each year and you can see details for the coins minted in the table below. The table has only reverse for each Canadian $100 gold coin, but that's mainly because all Canadian coins, gold or not, have pretty much the same obverses, featuring the image of the ruling monarch and in the case of $100 gold coins, it would be queen Elizabeth II.

The table with pictures and details for all Canadian $100 gold coins minted from 1976 to 2006 is after current listings (scroll down).
