Five Reasons to Have Multiple Ebay Accounts
Not everybody knows, but you can have more than one ebay account – all you need is to set them all with different e-mail addresses. Yet, why would anyone want to have more than one ebay account? And here are five reasons you should:
- You should separate your buying and selling activities if you're buying and selling on ebay. You may be a perfect seller yourself and never have problems with your customers, but not everyone else is. And if you run into a bad seller and you feel like leaving a negative feedback, chances are this buyer will leave a retaliation negative feedback to you and that's not what you want to have on your selling account.
- If you're buying and reselling on ebay, you definitely don't want your potential buyers tracking your buying operations through your feedback – your margin on your items is only your business.
- If you're selling in a few different categories, it can make sense to have separate accounts for each category, in which case you may look more as an expert and specialist in this area. And that gives and extra confidence for the buyers.
- If you have a non-ebay website and want to do a bit of and extra free advertisement, you can create an ebay user ID similar to your site URL address, e.g. "mydomain.com", or "my-domain-com". You can't have a regular URL address as your user ID (containing http://), but the ones above are suggestive enough to deliver the message to your ebay visitors.
- You can have one extra Ebay account as your back up plan. Ebay can be very efficient in suspending or even cancelling your account if they find that you're not complying with their rules. There're quite a few stories online about unfortunate buyers and sellers who unintentionally did something wrong and found themselves shut off. In many cases it could be negotiated, explained, and their accounts were reinstated, but it did take a lot of time.
